A sectional couch or sofa is the seating of choice for the contemporary living room.  It is the latest development in living room furniture, one that maximizes the use of space by filling in previously unused corner space.  Sectional couches are spacious and often come with a chaise lounge, which is great for stretching out and taking a nap on a lazy day or for getting comfortable watching a movie at the end of the day.  And did I mention that they are stylish?  With all the different designs on the market, from two tone leather sofas to more traditional upholstered sofas, there’s a choice of sectional for everyone- as long as one’s living room will accommodate it.  Here, too, different size options are available- some models can even be reconfigured at will, making for very versatile seating that can even be separated to form individual seats, in some cases.
Sectional furniture is usually made by bigger furniture companies like Ashley Furniture due to their size and production logistics.  These companies may have many models of sectionals available for purchase, and taking a trip to one’s local furniture store is a good way to see what’s on offer.  Be sure to measure your living room to see what size sectional will fit.  Also make a note of the configuration you would like to have, as some sectionals are available both ways and one way would better fit most living rooms (it is possible to get a sectional with a chaise on the left side or on the right side, for instance).  It you don’t see something you like, check the store’s catalog as no store is large enough to fit all the sectionals made by one big furniture company.  There’s   a good chance you will find something in the catalogue that can be specially ordered for you at no extra charge.  And because you will have taken the measurements of your living room, ordering from a catalog will be safe because you can check to make sure that the sectional will fit.
Some sectionals are relatively simple, and these are the ones where two pieces hook together to form an ‘L’ shape.  This setup can consist of either a sofa and loveseat, or a sofa/chaise combination.  Other sectionals may feature many seats, some with consoles in between for holding drinks and storing remote controls.  And don’t forget that many sectionals also offer reclining options- some where multiple seats can recline for the comfort of all the members of your family.
